THE CITY HAS DECIDED

Following the SRC elections that took place yesterday the 28TH of April, Students voted in a silent and violence free manner. Even though they were  kept in a tensed situation as the announcement of the results was delayed about 30 minutes, the supporters of the various candidates did nothing much more than to cheer their aspirants with songs and chants of praise. The raw figures of the vote as declared by the Electoral commissioner Mr. Dra -  Zronya shows there were about a 1091 voters out of over 6000 students. The outcomes of the votes are as follows:
ABEKA -----    683 ( 57.58%)
BONDAH ----  504 ( 42.48%).
Making Abekah Emmanuel as the SRC president Elect for the city. Abdul Rashad as the secretary elect whiles the two other unopposed c
andidates won their respective positions.

“PHADDA CARL” THREATENS TO SUE UG – ACC ELECTORAL COMMISSION FOR THE UNJUSTIFIABLE HIGH COST OF THE SRC EXECUTIVE NOMINATION FORMS.

  A student by name Ben- Carl  Dzogbo , popular called  Phadda  Carl intends to pursue a legal action against the Electoral commission of University of Ghana – Accra  City campus on  grounds of price hike  of the nomination forms of the  upcoming SRC elections. “The question that boggles my mind is the quoted amount in the EC’s report that was eventually approved by the General Assembly constitutionally justifiable? Article 40 of the UG – ACC constitution states that all administrative expenses of the electoral commission should be charged to the student’s fund. Is the picki ng of nominations forms an  avenue to exploit aspirants or to filter  the financially incapable? Well I have made my decision to iron out this conundrum of constitutional inconsistency as a student activist. ” He said.
